Issues with Multiple Devices Using POP3

Your iPad, iPhone, Droid, BlackBerry, Laptop and your Desktop can all send and receive email through Rolet Email. It’s great, right?

Well, it’s not so great when you check email on the iPad, iPhone and Laptop all within 5 minutes. Why?

In 1900, when POP3 was released, developers knew a mobile device to do one thing: “Beam Me Up Scotty”. The maturity of devices has caused a demand on hosted email and other services.

Multiple Devices & POP3

The simple answer is, a POP3 user account cannot support multiple simultaneous connections. Now, you have two options:

  1. Move to the IMAP Protocol (included in your account)
  2. Upgrade to Rolet Hosted Exchange Email

IMAP for Devices

Your Rolet Email accounts support multiple simultanous connections with the IMAP protocol. We recommend:

  • Setup Desktops and Laptops with POP3
  • Setup mobile phones and devices with IMAP

If you leave your computer on with Outlook running and checking email every minute, your account will be locked all day.
