How to transfer Outlook data (pst) from one computer to another computer

So, you’re planning on setting up Outlook a new computer? How do you get your email from your old computer to your new computer?

This article pertains to anyone who uses Rolet Email (POP/IMAP) and Rolet Exchange email services and needs to move existing email from Outlook to an other installation of Outlook on a different computer.

Follow these steps to copy and import an existing .pst file:

  1. Use the instructions in the “How to make a backup copy of a .pst file” section to make a backup copy of the .pst file that you want to transfer. Make sure that you copy the backup .pst file to a flash drive or other type of storage that the new computer can access.
  2. Copy the backup .pst file from the flash drive or other storage to your computer.
  3. Follow the steps in the “How to import .pst file data into Outlook” section to import the .pst file data into Outlook on the new computer.
